CRUMBS pledge-o-rama and other other stuff-o-rama

It's getting close to that time when the leaves change colour and fall off the trees. We cozy up and get ready for the winter. Here's some ways to stay warm.

CRUMBS has been making radio live on Mondays for almost a decade. We've won numerous made-up awards for report the news that most media companies are afraid to touch and we've broadcasted into your homes. We are now reaching out during the UMFM Pledge-o-rama which is a pledge drive for our listeners to put their money where their ears are and support the amazing radio that 101.5 UMFM has been delivering for years.

Tune in on Monday at 5-6PM for live radio news of the fake. This week we have wonderful guests from the Week Thus Far crew (Ryan Ash, Chad Anderson and Tim Gray). The Week Thus Far tapes live on Mondays at the King's Head Pub and you can be one of those "live studio audiences" that everyone is talking about.

What else is up the CRUMBS sleeves?

CRUMBS splits in two! While Lee White is busy spreading the improv love across Europe, Stephen Sim holds the fort down here in the Prairies.

Tue, Oct 21st 9PM

CRUMB & Friends performs at the King's Head on Tuesday with the musical wizardry of Dj Hunnicutt. We will have the talent and wonder of Jane Testar and Robyn Slade joining the stage for some "not-to-be-missed" improv spectacular.

Jane and Robyn are both in Outside Joke and have been killing the improv scene with their improv musical style show for years (years before a lot of these other improv musical shows have been doing it btw).

Tue, Nov 4th 9PM

TiL stands for Today I Learned... which will be a special Comedy Knights showcase show of "jokes worth spreading". This TED inspired parody/satire/actual lecture of information. The comedy community in Winnipeg is not only hilarious, we are also a deep well of valuable information and we all do have "jokes worth spreading". Show up for hilarity and education and more hilarity and then some more knowledge.

Click this LINK to find out how cool TED is, now imagine how cool this show will be.
Tune in and keep tuning in for more radio and live show updates!

Perhaps you are really slow getting to these words and the tour is already over. Maybe you are really really slow reading this and all the members of CRUMBS and anyone who ever saw them live are long long dead. Who knows. How am I supposed to know when you read this. I can't even be sure you're reading this AT ALL.

We had a CRUMBS photoshop contest. Here are the winners. First place goes to BEN.
Second place goes to Katie.

Oh look, a weird picture of Princess Diana on a wooden log at the dinner theatre in Winnipeg.

Oh look, a picture of me dressed as a Priest for a film shoot.

What's this? Dj Hunnicutt can not only mix amazing music, he can also mix amazing cocktails.

Okay, now aren't you glad that you read this? Of course you are, now start planning to go see all our shows in Europe!

CRUMBS keeps keepin' on.

Well it looks like CRUMBS is going to keep doing the CRUMBS things. Which means, we're going to keep doing improv shows. Not that we thought that we wouldn't...

You can look forward to an amazing show coming up on Friday, January 25th. We have our good friends the "National Theatre of the World" visiting Winnipeg from their home in Toronto. We are lucky enough to be doing a show with them.  This is a midnight show (yes, a special late night show). Don't be fooled by the pictures in the poster though. We won't have Dj Hunnicutt playing music, instead, we have the amazing Mama Cutsworth playing the Dj music (as it runs out, is a tradition for Mama Cutsworth to Dj the show when NTOW is in town). Also, the NTOW might even have extra guests included in the show.

This show will be a treat to perform and a treat to watch... wish I could do both.

The show will be at the Gas Station Arts Centre in Osborne Village. Get your tickets by calling 204-284-9477.

CRUMBS in Europa Fall 2011

Now that the Winnipeg iF... Improv Festival 2011 is over CRUMBS can now jump on a plane and fly to Europe for our Euro Touro 2011 part 2. The improv festival was such a smooth success this year with such great guests and such great shows and such great hang-outs. Winnipeg is a buzz and inspired.

The CRUMBS tour this fall is part 2  because normally we tour in the springtime, but this year we are touring again in the fall. It will be nice to see what Europe looks like in the fall instead of always enjoying the spring. It will also be nice seeing all the lovely Euro folks again so soon and giving them some CRUMBS love. We will also be touring with the amazing Dj Hunnicutt in Europe for longer than we have in the past too, so now more people can fall in love with him too.

See you at the shows,

Last couple shows in Winnipeg

You are going to be missing your CRUMBS fix very soon, unless of course you are reading this in Europe, in which case you are just about to get your fix. But, if you are in fact reading this in Winnipeg, you must get your fix in NOW!

CRUMBS are doing two more shows in Winnipeg before going off on their annual Euro Touro. CRUMBS first hopped over the pond to do a show in Europe in 2001, here we are in 2011 and CRUMBS has gone over there to do shows every year since that first amazing Berlin International Improv Festival.

The First Show:

Tuesday, March 1st.

This will be the last CRUMBS show at the King's Head Pub until the Winnipeg Fringe Festival July 13-24th. We will be playing with Dj Hunnicutt as usual, and we will be doing some sort of hilarious improv set as usual. The FREE LAUGHS comedy show that runs every Tuesday at the King's Head will continue doing shows with Outside Joke taking the place of CRUMBS for all your improv needs.

The Second Show:

Saturday, March 12th.

This will be the infamous "Berlin or Bust" improv fundraiser show at the Gas Station Theatre. We will be performing with Dj Hunnicutt on our home turf one last time before jumping on a plane to tour Europe. This is the 10th ever "Berlin or Bust" show we have done. It is amazing to think that CRUMBS has toured Europe for a decade, but it seems that math and history point to this truth.

CRUMBS turns 12

CRUMBS turns 12? Really?

Well way back in the fall of 1997 three leftover members of the seminal Winnipeg comedy troupe "Higher Than The Ground" formed a little trio called CRUMBS. Now the group has had a couple people come and go, but the two core members of the duo within the trio have always been (and remain) Stephen Sim and Lee White. CRUMBS currently plays with master of soundtrack DJ Hunnicutt, which brings the legendary duo back to duo in a trio. Everything is right with the world again.

So are CRUMBS going to have some sort of show to celebrate?
Good question...

Yes indeed, CRUMBS presents:

CRUMBS the Dirty Dozen Show
Celebrate 12 years of making it up

Saturday, Nov 14th 2009
Gas Station Theatre

Doors open at 7:30pm
Show starts at 8:00pm

Tickets are $12 at the door
$10 for students
limited number of advanced tickets for $10 available at the King's Head during the Free Laughs Comedy series on Tuesday nights.

You can call for reservations at 284-9477

Thank you for reading about this, but now you must follow through...
and i don't just mean joining the facebook event page you actually have to go to the show and see it live.
