Comedy Isn't Funny Anymore
Onstage at the Pantages Playhouse Theatre (Venue #4)

Comedy Isn't Funny Anymore is a post-modern take on

the golden age of comedy.

Stephen Sim is funny. Caity Curtis is funny. They want you

to laugh. More than that, they want you to laugh at the

right parts of the show. How will you know when to

laugh? How will you determine when the funny is

happening? Is comedy even funny? Good luck, Audience

People.

These are two comedians. (CRUMBS, The Winnipeg

Improv Festival, The Winnipeg Comedy Festival, The Big

Stupid Improv Show, King’s Head Comedy Knights, The

(Improvised) Bachelorette, Vancouver Sketchfest, TEDx

Winnipeg, general international fame…)

Euro Touro 2016 Part 1

CRUMBS are back on tour in Europe. It hasn't been since 2014 that CRUMBS have been together on European soil. Pretty exciting stuff right? And to think that it was way back in the spring of 2001 that CRUMBS first hopped over the pond from Canada to Europe so if I do the math correctly and crunch the numbers... it is the 15 year anniversary of CRUMBS on a Euro Touro. Wow, time does fly by.

Here's what the little Euro Touro looks like:

Sat, May 7th - Hamburg

Thu, May 12th - Berlin

Sat, May 14th - The Hague

Thu, May 19-May 21 - Leipzig

Sun, May 22nd - Baden (CH)

Sun, May 29th - Berlin

Improv & Comedy coming up in Winnipeg

Winnipeg shows are coming up. Yes, the world seems to end in February and it seems like nothing will ever be good again. But instead of being depressed, let the comedy and improv melt your heart and make you feel good.

Thank you to all the people in Berlin who came out to the Virtual CRUMBS show we had at the Ratibortheater in Berlin. Lee was live on the stage while Stephen was live in his living room using the magic internet.

What's that? Upcoming shows? Of course!

Tue, Feb 16th
The Comedy Double Date Show

All happening at the King's Head Pub as part of the Comedy Knights comedy series that happens ever single Tuesday night.

CRUMBS in the New Year!

CRUMBS at the King's Head Pub on Thursday, Jan 7th

Of course you'll be looking forward to seeing the amazing Virtual CRUMBS show happening in... well in Berlin on Feb 4th. Some of the show happens in Winnipeg and then it's stuffed into small tubes and the digital information is sent to Berlin and projected live onstage at the Ratibortheater. A CRUMBS show that happens with the help of technology.

Summer is coming!

Summer is coming and that can mean only one thing... or several things... but mostly that the weather is going to start actually acting like summer.

It also means that Winnipeg forgets about hockey after a great a run. Winnipeg turns its sights on the arts and the culture (when we aren't escaping to the cabin and camping in the woods).

What's that? You are interested in some upcoming live shows? Okay, I'll tell you about some of them.

CRUMBS is going to be doing a strange and cool and strange experimental Skype show in Berlin. Lee will be live in Berlin and Stephen will be "live" via skype in Berlin while comfortably sitting in Winnipeg. The show will be at the Ratibortheater in Kruezberg on May 7th. It will be great, so get to Berlin.

Comedy Knights continues to offer you the FREE and GREAT comedy and improv shows at the King's Head Pub. Every single Tuesday at 9pm there is a show to enjoy.

Tue, May 5th is the next one!

CRUMBS is an improv duo based out of Winnipeg. Stephen Sim and Lee White formed the company in 1997 and have since toured the world. CRUMBS stripped down long form improv show of comedy meets theatre meets comedy again has gone on to become the toast of the international improvised theatre scene. CRUMBS performs a fully improvised story and their cinematic style is further enhanced by the improvised musical soundtrack provided by Dj Hunnicutt. The show has convinced more that a few people that improv can be theatre, that theatre can be hilarious, that comedy can be touching and that you can make up a show right in front of an audience and have it be good.

CRUMBS has performed in every Fringe festival in Winnipeg since their first show in 1998 and therefore has the record for the most Winnipeg Fringe Festival shows produced and performed by the same company. We've crunched the numbers for you:

Number of Fringe Seasons in a row = this will be 17
Number of Fringe shows in Winnipeg = this will be 141
Number of musicians we've worked with = 5
Number of countries we've performed in = 16
Number of stars our show is worth = 69 (accumulative)
Number of venues we've Fringed at in Winnipeg = 6
Number of Improv shows at this Fringe Festival = 15
Number of Improv shows at CRUMBS first Fringe = 3
Number of planes CRUMBS has flown on = 147
Number of World Tours = 20

CRUMBS has toured internationally, headlining festivals, winning improv tournaments and teaching improv masterclasses. CRUMBS been lucky enough to tour their show all over the world, and have been lucky enough to perform with many of the great improv companies around the world and been smart enough to steal everyone's good ideas and bring them right back to Winnipeg every year for the Fringe.

CRUMBS in the Summer time

So, it's summer time, the weather is hot and it's time to relax. So what if the weather isn't exactly hot, it is still time to relax.

CRUMBS thanks all those many people who enjoyed our show this year at the Fringe. It was another sold out run of shows at the King's Head Pub. We certainly hope there weren't too many of you out there that stood in line only to be disappointed by the SOLD OUT sign being posted right before your turn to buy tickets. We are serious when we say "Get your advance tickets NOW!".

The CRUMBS show this year at the festival involved TRUTH, and truth be told, it worked out famously. Some of the stories that inspired the shows include:

-A woman who was picked up in Ireland at the airport by her professional wrestler fiancé... along with his pregnant girlfriend. (Yes, that's an actual picture of the actual guy)

-A married couple who had the husband tell the wife to be that they would never ever ever get married.

-A cook (just a cook) on a US military submarine who moved to Winnipeg for love.

-A rocket scientist (who insisted that he was just a technician) who travelled on a "bumpy" road in a short cut at the Grand Canyon.

-A drunken kiss at a Bomber game becomes love.

-A break up story... where friends of the ex-girlfriend were actually in the audience too... amazing!

We should also mention the amazing run of shows that the Big Stupid Improv Show had at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. We had so many great guests play some improv make'em ups with us. Lee also had the chance to again display his improv game show format (The Big Smart Improv Show) and Mama Cutsworth made the music sound even better than music should even sound. A thank you to all the players and people involved with making that show a success.

In fact, a huge shout out goes out to all the improv that happened at the Winnipeg Fringe this year. This was a record year for Fringe attendance, and a record year for the amount of improv there was. Over 11% of the total number of companies were listed as either improv or sketch comedy (as I've mentioned before). This is huge. And great.

Look for more CRUMBS in your future.

Perhaps on the Radio. We still do our long running live radio show every Monday at 5PM CST on 101.5 UMFM.

Perhaps at the King's Head. We continue our long running shows on Tuesday nights upstairs at the pub. The Free Laughs Comedy Show does a FREE show every Tuesday at 9PM. The show is sometimes IMPROV, sometimes STAND-UP, and sometimes SKETCH COMEDYand is ALWAYS great!

Perhaps just walking down the street, sometimes we walk down the street.
